Car parking facilities at the airport
Parking facilities for cars at Kapiti Airport are efficient and meet the needs of most travellers. As you would expect for a local regional airport, parking space are limited. If you are expecting to arrive and park in a covered multi-storey unit as you may see at international airports then you will be disappointed.
Short stay parking and dropping-off
Capactiy for short term parking is limited and open to the elements - it is not covered. All parking facilities and dop-off points at the airport are suitable for travellers with disabilities as all parking is located on flat level ground, and is not too far from the terminal buildings.
Parking for the long term
Long term car parking is a short walk from the main terminal. Parking facilities are limited with no covered parking making for slippery conditions on the grass surface after heavy rain. The car parking area is well fenced, monitored and reasonably secure.
Fees, costs and charges
'Pay & display' parking tickets should be purchased upon arrival - see signage located at the airport car parks. At time of writing the short term car paking fees were NZ$1.00 per hour (or $8.00 for 24hours). Long term parking is NZ$8.00 for 24 hours. Payments of car parking tickets can be obtained by automated ticketing machines, they accept credit cards, coins and text-a-park.

Monday - Friday: 5:40am - 7:40pm
Saturday: 5:40am - 11:00am
Sunday: 2:15pm - 7:40pm
