Air New Zealand test flight
On Tuesday 2 August 2011 Air New Zealand flew a test flight into Kapiti Coast Airport for staff to familiarise themselves with the airport. The aircraft, a 50-seat Bombardier Q300, landed at the Paraparaumu local airport for the first time since the $3 million upgrade of the runway, and the new Aircraft Flight Information Service.
The Bombardier Q300 is said to ideal for the Kapiti Coast Airport as it is very quiet when manoeuvring around the terminal and onto the runway. Air New Zealand subsidiary Air Nelson will be operating the new daily service to Auckland and the 18 return flights a week.
